About the Ceres Community

Ceres-Downtown Arch

Ceres, California is located in the central San Joaquin Valley, 80 miles south of Sacramento and 95 miles east of San Francisco, in the heart of Stanislaus County. Ceres is in one of the Central Valley's richest and most diverse agricultural areas and is the home of the new $14 million County Agriculture Center.  Even the name "Ceres" originates from the Roman goddess of agriculture.

Though the City is experiencing population growth, it still manages to keep that small-town feel.  During the summer months, find several fun family-friendly activities in Ceres.  Some of the marquee events for the downtown area are, the Ceres Street Faire, Concerts in the Park and Christmas Tree Lane.

Our many community organizations and citywide events are what really bring our town together and help celebrate what makes living in Ceres so special.  Visit the Community Involvement page and Community Events page for more information.
